As the golden disk of the sun peeked over the horizon, the sleeping sky was suddenly awakened. Tara marveled at its rays as they illuminated the sky, colouring the white clouds with a pale orange hue. A flock of birds flew by, their noisy chirping breathing life into the quiescent atmosphere. With each passing second, the sun ascended further atop like a ripening peach. It lit the entire village with its vibrant glow like the flame of a single candle does to a dark room. And a radiant smile blossomed on Tara's face as the warmth enveloped her. She gazed up at the magnificent sunrise, suddenly remembering that it marked the end of yesterday but the start of a new day.

The little girl stood by the sea, watching her long shadow fall to the water's edge. It was a cold winter morning so she eagerly awaited the arrival of the warm sun. As its pale pink frame appeared on the horizon, a sudden wave of nostalgia hit her. The sunrise always reminded her of her sister, how they had always watched the resplendent beginning of a new day together. Now she realized, she was alone. As the warm rays caressed her shivering body, she felt a strange tranquility overcome her. She gazed at the murky yellow haze atop her. Cotton-like clouds had formed scattered across in bizarre shapes across the eternal sky. Although the darkness of the night had disappeared, a grayish hue was still visible amidst the panes of yellow and orange. And somewhere in the middle of it all, a glorious sun shone; alone in the vastness like her..
